The innovative V8 engine gives totally superior driving power in every situation, providing consistently high performance along with consumption figures that demonstrate its efficiency, while at the same time boasting significantly lower emissions than its predecessor engine.
A combination of different and innovative engine technologies make these excellent performance figures possible. The direct petrol injection and two compact turbochargers with intercooling, for example, lead to a fast response from the engine and optimised thermodynamic efficiency. Downsizing to 4.6 litre displacement, the systematic use of lightweight materials and the particularly fast-acting and accurate piezo injectors are just some of the diverse and pioneering BlueEFFICIENCY technologies which will dominate the streets of tomorrow.
The new S 63 AMG is powered by an optimised AMG 5.5-litre V8 Biturbo engine with a rated power output of 430 kilowatts. The powerful engine delivers superior pulling power already at low engine speeds, exemplary efficiency and driving pleasure.
Intelligently combined high-tech systems ensure a unique performance envelope with minimal fuel consumption. They include e.g. the NANOSLIDE lining of the cylinder sleeves as well as kinetic energy recuperation during braking and coasting in the Controlled Efficiency transmission mode with ECO start/stop function.
